Shop Modern Latina became an idea when I saw a store in Los Angeles was appropriating and selling my cultures huaraches for a hefty price.

I then decided to build relationships with artisans in my mother's hometown and became good friends with huarache makers. Such good friends, that 2 years later, here we are, with an online store.

I not only love taking part in the design process, I also love that I get to share my culture and modernize it in ways that others can wear them too. (Hence, where the name Modern came from). 

Also, I continue to fully support my artisan friends and keep my prices reasonable and feasible for everyone.
